Macrobiotic diet available on RCCL Allure of the Seas

I recently had the opportunity to cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas (sister ship of Oasis of the Seas). The food choices on board were remarkable. I usually try to follow a macrobiotic diet and the Allure definitely offers cruisers macrobiotic selections.

For breakfast, in the buffet area- Windjammer Marketplace, there is an ‘Asian Flavors’ area. In this food pod, there is a miso soup station that offers all kinds of choices to add to the miso soup (tofu, wakame, shiitake mushrooms, scallion, shrimp…). Also, every day there is a selection of sauteed vegetables. Different types of stir fried rice are available every day. There are fruit and raw vegetables. Oatmeal is available every morning (walnuts and raisins too!). Even salmon is available every day! In the Solarium Bistro, there is granola to pick from also.

For lunch, the best macrobiotic choices can be found in the Solarium Bistro. There is an array of healthy choices offered in this location. There are two miso soup choices. You can select vegetarian or shrimp. The other ingredients are already set in the bowl. There is usually a few hot vegetable dishes and wrap selections also. There is a full salad bar which includes different bean choices every day. Also available are fruit, nuts, and seeds. Even desserts are healthy options!

There are complimentary healthy snacks in the Vitality Spa Cafe offered all day (7:00am – 11:00pm).

For dinner, in the Adagio Dining Room, there is always a wonderful vegetarian option on the menu. A different selection is available each night. There are also delicious seafood selections offered each night (Lobster, shrimp, salmon, talapia, mahi mahi,…). Similar options are available at the Windjammer Buffet.

Of all the cruise ships I have been on, I think the Allure offers the best healthy eating options! The Allure’s sister ship, The Oasis, has the same food options. I think that it is helpful to know this type of information when selecting your next cruise. I hope this information has been helpful to you. Please check out pictures of some of our food choices below!
