Royal Caribbean recently announced that smoking will not be allowed on their ships’ balconies beginning January 1, 2014.  There will be a $250 cleaning fee charged on a passenger’s SeaPass account if a violation occurs.   There will still be some designated areas to smoke on board.  Oasis class ships will still allow smoking on the port side of the ships.

Royal Caribbean joins Disney Cruise Lines, Cunard , and P&O Cruise Lines with the ban of smoking on balconies.
